By setting MOST models of the 259 analyzers to frequency
counter you disable the internal oscillator and the SWR
meter still reads SWR (some models the impedance meter still
reads).

If you leave the antenna attached as normally done and
switch to frequency counter you can look at the meters. If
you see any meter reading you have ac or dc voltages getting
into the bridge.
