Jim,
While you're at it, how about 3 across?
You could "hang" them from a crossbar with mast extended down to mount each
boom.  They you could support them with guys from above on the crossbar.
I would think that the pattern could be tight and clean.

Jim, W6RMK, raised the question of the k9ltc array being
fully programmable.  In turn, this raises the broader question
of stacking smaller arrays, and tuning the individual elements,
rather than phase-feeding the tuned arrays.  

A curious enough question that it's worth investing some winter
season in modelling exercises.  Is 2 over 2 better than just 3?
or is 2 over 2 better than just 4?   If so, how/when/within what
limits?  Where do phasing losses become dominant..such that fewer
elements have better payback?  

I'm looking toward the next solar max...and anticipating
3 over 3, properly diddled.  There's time to model it, and in the
meantime I'm working below yagi freq's.  So this is a planning/academic
exercise.

And then, there's the other question....what happens if you have fixed
reflector/directors and a tuneable DE?   A cheaper steppIR?
