Bernie: From a coverage/pattern perspective, obviously top is the choice. To
get an almost omni pattern side mounting would require 20 or more feet of
sidearm, depending on size of the tower. A concern I would have is that you
will be running duplex (TX and RX) RF to a rotating antenna and mount, and
flexing the connecting cable. Recipe for problems. Unless the additional
height clears obstructions--trees or buildings--I'd recommend putting it on
the side and see how it works. Also, some samples of various spacing/pattern
comninations are in the DB products catalog that may help in selecting a
spacing (Decibel Products has been aquired by Andrew Corp, and this page
with the patterns does not seem to be available on the web site).--Mike,
