This is why different bolt types are used in applications.
Grade 2 bolts stretch and break easily.
SS bolts stretch, but are hard to break.
Grade 5 bolts hardly stretch but do break.
Grade 8 bolts do break, but not easily (if at all).
In some applications one would want the assembly to stay together no matter
what happens to it (Grade 8). However the assembly its self may be damaged
(bent) beyond repair.
In other applications a bolt, or bolts, failing *might* preserve the
assembly's integrity so that it could be put back together with minimal damage.
This is how our ME explained it to me - An electrical guy.
