[TowerTalk] Copper pipe for ground rods

I use a 1/2" diameter hex head bolt and a large hammer. Prior to driving 
the pipe, I scoop out a cavity about 6" deep. When the pipe is just above 
ground level, I flatten it with a bench vise or 2 hammers, then drill a 
hole for a 1/4" SS bolt, nut and washer. After the connections are made and 
sealed, a few taps with the hammer and a short piece of 2 X 4  take the 
pipe below ground level. The cavity can then be backfilled.

No clay in this part of N FL, just 2 ft of sand and organic material, a 
thin layer of hardpan and more yellow sand.
