[TowerTalk] To paint or not...

I painted my 48' Rohn 25G, primarily because it was old and some of the
galvanizing had worn off, allowing part of it to get some surface rust.
After sanding off the rust, I had to paint it to protect it. I used a
light gray galvanized metal primer.
There are almost no trees in the neighborhood, because it's a newer
subdivision that used to be a cow pasture. All the electrical lines are
buried.
When the sky is overcast, you can barely see the tower but the TH5DX,
VB64, and Ringo stand out and drive the XYL nuts! :)

I find that after the shine goes dull with age my towers/antennas kinda
blend into the background, which in Arizona is the mountains.
We don't have trees that get over 20 feet tall in my neighborhood and
unless
you really know what to look for you don't see my stuff if you are more
than
1/4 mile away.
