I have been one to modify the lower end of the tower ,but much in aircrart 
style .  I overdrilled the hole slightly and installed a tubular piece of  pipe 
and mig welded all together.  Total time down was caused by other aspects of 
maint. my end was conservatly 2.0, hrs. Strong and safe forn as long as the
