One more difference between the two models:

 

The 269 offers you to view the impedance as resistance IN PARALLEL WITH the
reactance, not only the SERIAL connections of these two.  This is practical
where one may want to tune out reactance with a capacitor or an inductance
in parallel with the feedpoint terminal instead of in series with it.
