you can use wire , copper pipes, brass pipes, stainless steel  or gold if you want,

the cb wips are 3/8 24 at the base you can use a  mirror mount to support the wips oposite  insulated from the base ,  there some vendors have for sale this base , to mount any  sinlge band  wips  for any hf band    i hear some people using 2  80m resonators  in that configuration  with good performance
