Absolutely guy the roof tower but be aware that the stress on  your roof will 
be incredible and the local building officials may not OK the  project due to 
stress.    I know of a similar tower put up  across the river in St Paul, 
Minnesota.    The local building  permit officials
insisted on an engineers design approval before they would OK the project  
and 
approve a building permit.   It required a lot of reinforcement  inside the 
roof.
And it wasn't cheap.
 
In this case it was a tripod but not really a different problem.
