Yep.. 4423423 is probably the one of interest to most readers... 600 ohm 
resistor, 4:1 transformer, etc.  Issued in 1983 (so it expired in 2000, 
assuming they paid all their maintenance fees.. they may not have bothered)

Interesting that they cite a similar looking antenna patents from the 40s 
assigned to RCA, including one from Carter in 1941.

It's also interesting to look at the patents that reference the Bush/B&W 
patent:

Astron has a patent on a variant: 5,111,213  (4:1 coax transformer, and 
various resistors and capacitors).. funded under an SBIR contract with NOSC.

Altshuler 5,289,198 has a funky looking folded monopole.
