Use as many radials as you can as long as you can in a
straight line. There are two rules of thumb:

1.) Is it is not necessary to use more than 60 radials about
2/10th wavelength long for nearly perfect efficiency

2.) It does little good if the radial ends are closer than
.025 to .05 wavelengths from each other on the highest band

That's 6-12 feet end spacing on 80 meters at the outside of
the field radius.

I'd use copper wire. Fence wire will go away after a few
years in many soil types, copper will last longer than you
will.
