The "broadbandedness" of the double bazooka probably comes more from  
the additional loss of the coax than from any increase in the size of  
the conductor. If you consider the size of 12 gauge wire or coax in  
wavelengths for any HF band, the difference is minimal -- they are  
both tiny fractions of a wavelength and virtually indistinguishable.

The bazooka, if anything, has fractionally less gain because of the  
additional loss of the coax. Practically speaking, a dipole and a  
double bazooka will perform the same. Considering the additional  
cost, more complex construction and the mechanical weakness of the  
bazooka, you're better off putting up a dipole.
