I do this with my 45' top/center loaded portable 160 meter
vertical. To get good performance on 80 meters, I have a
small "12 long L-bracket at the top of the 160 meter vertical
with a pulley attached at the far end. Using the pulley and a
piece of dacron rope I hoist a 66' foot wire parallel with the
side of the vertical (the rope is attached to the 66' wire 45'
from the end of the wire). A second rope attaches to the end
of the 66' wire which I use to pull the top 21ft of wire (the
portion above the pulley rope attachment point) out sideways
to form a bent 80 meter vertical.  Seems to works just fine.
