. I have found that 
on 20 meters both my four at 45 feet and my four at  85 feet do better than 
both. Seems like a phasing problem but on the other  bands..............K2HK

>From the W2PV book....45 over 85 is pretty close to have much gain over one  
antenna on 20. A lot depends on incoming angles too
 
I've used stacks for years for 20 and found that 95 over 45 was a very good  
performer...close to what PV recommended.
