With the steel angle which is almsost as strong as the commercial ones, just
use spacers unter the top angle. Check with a level to make sure they are
oriented properly both in the vertical and horizontal planes. Be sure to
paint the angle too<:-))
Unless you are installing a station master or other heavy antenna (or in
very high wind areas) the lighter mounts are superior to the heavy
commercial ones. If need by you can go to 1 1/2" or even 2" angle for
increased strength.
BTW DX engineering has some very nice clamps that work very well . The
insert fits the shape of the roung tower leg. If the Trylon has a flat
surface it's even easier as no insert is needed...with the exception of
shims to make sure the antenna will be straight.
