[TowerTalk] Building a Tower Trailer

Here's something. Not the one I was thinking of (couldn't find it with a
quick Google) but it will give you some ideas. You could probably load the
tower yourself with one of these. You don't have to lift the full weight of
the tower, as the back roller would support the top. I suppose you could
use some light weight tackle, maybe attached to some webbing that runs over
the front roller and attaches to the front bumper (just temporary while you
haul the tower up on top). I can also see some sort of cradle to which you
would strap the tower and then pull it up onto the rollers with a hand winch
or some other device to give you some mechanical advantage. Maybe you could
make use of one of those front-bumper-mounted 4WD winches?

As I've found while hauling a variety of antennas and their supports around
with my RV, there are a lot of ways to do it, but the hard part is doing it
with just one person. Get a girlfriend? No, never mind, sorry, momentary
loss of common sense.

Subject: [TowerTalk] Building a Tower Trailer

I would like to mount a Force12 LPT tower on a trailer. Anyone have
any experience building a trailer for a tower (or otherwise)? I am
looking for design/construction tips. In particular, I need a trailer
that is small and reasonably inexpensive. In particular, I would like
the trailer to be as narrow as possible yet still stable enough for
towing. I'm thinking something with retractable/removable struts.

My LPT1242 worked out extremely well for FD this past weekend. I'm
hoping to make it even more convenient by mounting it on a trailer.
Unfortunately, I have limited space at my home for a trailer and thus
need it to be small, narrow, and light enough that I can push it along
the side of my house into the back yard.

Any advice would be appreciated.
