Excuse me.  Here's a dissenting opinion.

That black box thing with meters and knobs and stuff on the desk may be a 
rig to we hams...   But to my lady friend, that thing is a radio when I try 
to explain why I need another $5,000 radio thing instead of a cruise to the 
Caribbean.
