Bicycle tube. I took a good one on a charity radie and swapped it for
a punctured one, and got a kiss as well as the opportunity to reuse a
trashed tube.

For how long? and does it have to be really UV resistant?

Plastic bag, secured with a nylon zip tie or wrap of tape?

   Piece of rubber hose?

   Balloon or condom?

There are also purpose designed plugs and caps that mate with the connector.
Probably wretchedly expensive new, but probably dirt cheap surplus. The
screw on cap for the SO-239 is probably a lot easier to come by than the
plug for the PL-259. I've seen the caps with a little bead chain that keeps
it from getting lost and they have a rubber gasket inside the cap, so
they're probably fairly weatherproof (assuming the rubber hasn't fallen
apart since it was made in 1950).
