[TowerTalk] Hy-Gain HG-70HD Crankup Tower

Don,

I used to have one when I lived in AZ.  Sold it to W7IUV who has it now in
WA.

I think Hy-Gain built them in Lincoln, NE.  Hy-Gain made a raising fixture
that I had.  It was guyed back to one screw anchor and attached to the
closest leg several feet up, I think.  (I tried to tie it to a car bumper,
and the winch raised the car!)   I think the fixture had a double loop for
the mechanical advantage.  The fixture base was just angle iron set on the
edge of the concrete base, so it was kinda strange.  You could probably have
one built or maybe build a better one, but it would help if you had a
picture or drawing.

A small crane should be able to do it and snatch it higher.

The sections all raise in unison, so the answer to #2 is no.  Do the rotor
work when the tower is vertical.

Have one of these and need some help.  Very well built but a bear to work 
with and I need to do some rotator repair and antenna repair after getting 
it moved from Portland and reinstalled at our coast home.

1. Currently use the local auto hauler to come up, extend his boom, hook 
around and lay the tower over (high associated cost and very difficult to 
schedule plus can't get in when rains come during winter!).  Does anyone 
have any knowledge of a fixture/winch that someone has designed for this 
tower that I can build to lay it over in lieu of the wrecker?

2. Any suggestions on a good and safe way to get just the inner section up 
to get at the rotator.  When fully nested it is impossible to get at the 
darn thing.  Regular fixed tower gin poles don't work.

3. Did Hy-Gain really construct it or was it done by another tower 
manufacturer if anyone happens to know
