  Gene and John,

My mind is going south at times. I meant grade 8 bolts. However, HD does not always carry an ample supply of them. OTH, Ace has them but at a higher cost.

I just retired from HD after a two year stint (retail proved to be too much). Prior to that I was a Verizon engineer for 36 years and retired in 2003.

I have used the grade 8 hardware on three crank-up towers and never lost sleep. I currently live near Boulder, Colorado and erected a Hy-Gain HG54-HD motorized tower with nine bolts holding the beast up.

Do the right thing and get some sleep!

  Semper Fi,

If you are concerned about strength, you might want to consider GRADE 8
bolts, which are much stronger than the 'normal' grade 5.
Both ACE and HD have these in stock. . . .
