[TowerTalk] [Boatanchors] Base for tower

My .02:
Plan on installing the "Wonder Post", etc. exactly as specified by the
manufacturer.
They have already paid the engineers to do the math. When it comes time to
pour the concrete, go around and find an area where there is alot of new
home construction activity taking place. Look for a concrete mixer truck and
a bunch of guys pushing wheelbarrows. Wait for them to finish their pour,
then walk up and offer them a couple cases of beer and $15 cash per hour (or
whatever rate is appropriate for your area) to come to your place one late
afternoon with their wheelbarrows. Three men can wheel and pour that 2-1/2
yds in less than an hour. Your total cost including the concrete will be
less than the engineer's fee alone. Make sure the beer is pre-chilled and on
ice so you will have no problem getting them back for the next project.
Good luck!

It would seem to me that these questions are better answered by a local
engineer in consultation with the tower manufacturer.
