[TowerTalk] Acorn ground clamps??

I have asked my builder to lay a couple of my ground radials,  for
lightning dispersal, under the slab of my new home.  I  had specified
CadWelded connections; his quote was returned as using "acorn  ground 
clamps".  I do not know what these are, but I am sure they are not  as good as a 
CadWelding.
