Dennis:

     I used a small sheet of stainless steel flashing.  I bought a sample set of several different thincknesses from Online Metals:  http://www.onlinemetals.com/merchant.cfm?id=284&step=2 .  

     I'm not sure which sheet I selected, but I am certain one sample sheet should serve satisfactorily.  See?
