OK, thanks to google and a handy pointer from a coworker as to the
correct spelling.
It's GIUBO (not guibo).. Italian, of course,
Giunto Boschi.. The flexible joint invented by Boschi, and sold by
his company GIUBO SpA, starting around 1900.
They're a common feature on Italian cars.. You too can buy one for
your Countach for $531, apparently.
