I am told by the contractor that all the renovations to my new home will be done in February and I should be moved in by the first of March.  In the back yard is  a 20x20 foot concrete pad with a part of a section of 25 G tower sticking out of the concrete Bolted to it is a full section of 25 G with a basket ball back stop and hoop attached. I have checked with the city permits people and there is no record of a tower ever being approved. The man I talked to said since he started there in the 70's anything under 30 feet did not get a permit or any inspection.  So any suggestions on  how I can inspect the section in the concrete and see if it is safe for a 30 foot tower. The 10 foot section is in bad shape missing cross braces and rust around the bolt holes.  It will be going to the scrap yard.
