HI,
I will be within the next few months relocating to a new home with
plenty of land, presently have a 25G at 40 feet with a Mosley TA-33 and
a HAM V on it, both the tower and the beam have survived 5 hurricanes
without any problems.
New location has a wind speed spec of 70MPH. I have decided not to
relocate the beam/tower and give it to the local club if they want it.
I looking for a free standing crackup tower and were I can service the
antenna if needed from the ground. For my operating habits and desires
a 50ft height is very acceptable.
After reviewing adds and browsing the Internet I have narrowed it down
to the following: (Other recommendations will be very much appreciated)
US Tower MA-550 (55')with the tilt over raising fixture MAF-550 and use
the MARB-550 free standing hinged base for the rotor location at the base.
US Tower TX-455 (55')and the raising fixture TRX-80HD with the rotor in
the top section.
The Needle style maybe better when it comes to neighbors but I can do
either.
My plans are to spring for a new 3-ele SteppIR and also a new 2 meter
beam and new rotor such as the Yaseu G-1000DXA plus the Tower. My new
builder has offered to pour the Tower base and I therefore need to
narrow my selection down soon and get the base on order.
I would appreciate comments or suggestions on manufacturers that I may
have missed, possible noise problems form the needle or crank up types?,
(Never Own one) and any other recommendations.
I'll be 65 this year and I have been up on my Tower twice this year and
I feel those days of climbing are almost gone, rather do it from ground
level or almost ground level.
Thanks in advance for your comments.

PS Going from FL to Central GA, I'm done with Hurricanes!
