[TowerTalk] C31XR versus SteppIR

Switch to 180 degree mode and you will quickly figure out if you have a
reflector or not.

Next someone is going to tell us that traps are wonderful things too. I
guess they are if you like loss.

The fact is all antennas break sooner or later.

I really don't understand the all the attacks at SteppIR antennas. If you
are happy with your antenna there is no need to attempt to trash another
antenna because it different than yours.

There is a reason that these antennas are hard to get.........It is called
Demand and they just work.

If you think your antenna is that much better then why would you care if
people are buying an inferior antenna?

They are expensive, they may not be for everyone and the same could be said
for long boom 6 ele 20 meter stacks or full sized 80m beams.

I am still a younger guy by ham radio standards and I climb towers but the
older I get (42 now) the less I want to climb. I just put up a 70 self
supporting tower which makes raising and lowering antennas much easier with
limited help. There have been times when I wished I had opted to put up a
crank up tower now and especially down the road.

To each their own.

I like being able to switch my antenna in bidirectional mode, 180 flips in
seconds and being able to adjust my elements so that I can lessen the F/B in
say a domestic contest because I want to work everyone. Just a few of my
favorite things.

Au contrarire, mon ami - have you not heard about SWR? Should what you
postulate actually happen, the end result would be an elevated SWR. Nice
try.....
