My mistake, seat of the pants comment. You're right,
the W0-CO-US path certainly leans toward the higher
angles but the statistics still show a big difference
at the low angles between CO and ND/IA so I'm not sure
how to extrapolate for SD. I pasted in the first 5
degree figures for all 3 below.
And.. I was using YT for my analysis and wasn't even
aware that HFTA was out there. After a little
research I can see that I should give HFTA a try and
also use some of the new, more complete, methods of
generating terrain files using DEMs. My antenna book
is a few years old and doesn't include HFTA so think
I'll order a new book but will have to wait for a
while to get the software. Looking forward to seeing
the results.
