[TowerTalk] Copper strap treatment?

I am about to bury the copper strap to connect several ground rods.  I remember reading about a treatment given to the copper prior to burying it but could not find it in the archives.  Is copper treatment necessary? If so, what is the treatment? Or is there an archive I can look up... Thanks
