[TowerTalk] Shorty 40

There are different configurations of linear loading. Some antennas split
the element and the loading wire runs toward the center of the element
acting as a truss and some split the element further toward the end and the
loading wire goes toward the end of the element. It would be nice to know
what effect these configurations have on the pattern and what their real
efficiencies are.

I had a pair of 4 el KLMs and was never overly impressed by their
performance. Before that I had a Hi-Gain 2 el and it was often referred to
as a rotary dummy load.

One of my KLM's has been sold and Im contemplating converting the other into
a pair of 2 el with Cushcraft style loading coils.

I feel that nobody has got linear loading completely figured out.
