I had a TH& up for over 12 years and had no problems with the balum. I  run 
legal limit most of the time. I did have a problem like someone was talking  
about when it rained with a TH6. The trap drain holes were not straight down. I  
had to bring the antenna down and reset the traps correctly and all was ok 
after  that.
