I'm convinced that it is the result of how vertically polarized
waves and horizontally polarized waves are propagated. During the
contest this afternoon, I will use only my vertical, because it's a
good 6-10 dB better than my 100 ft high horizontal dipole at
distances of 400-1,000 miles.
