Tim,

Two antennas I would recommend using the antenna tuner and the open wire 
is a 40 meter double extended zepp (Dipole) and or a 80 meter center 
feed zepp (dipole)

With the double extended you get some very strong lobes and some gain, I 
think around 3db over a standard dipole.  It will work up on 80 meters 
and all bands as well.

The 80 meter dipole will work all bands but if I remember correctly it 
doesn't perform as well on 40 meters.
