Have you looked at the pattern of your antenna with EZNEC?  With the
apex at 1/4 wavelength and an apex angle of 90 degrees, an inverted vee
is almost perfectly omnidirectional in azimuth. Yours isn't exactly
that, but it should be pretty close.
