[TowerTalk] Hy-Gain HDR 300

I have an older model HDR 300.  The digital display is all over the
place.  It zeros out okay,  but once the antenna begins rotating the
digits are jumping plus or minus10 to 15 degrees.  Tried replacing the
filter capacitor C5, no luck.  Tried adjusting gain and zero,  no luck. 
Short of junking the conroller,  does anyone have any ideas?
