[TowerTalk] Need help with US Tower

MIke,

First the basics, Is the power connection made and working?,?If you are using the remote control system then check if the power is "ON" at the tower control box.? The remote control package (at the tower) has a master relay that must be closed to supply power to the time delay and control relays.???

If there is power at the control box, then check the limit "down" switch for proper action.? I have seen this type of switch hang up due to need of lubrication.
Check the continuity through the down limit switch with the power OFF, find the 3 wire cable and check the NO and NC contacts are being made.
If that is okay, then check the time delay relay function.? With the power ON, and the control switch position for DWN wait the 5 sec for the switch to activate.??

Since the UP function works, a quick check would be to switch the two time delay relays and then try the DOWN switch - if it works after the 5 sec delay you have located the problem.?

Check the schematic for the key points to check continuity or measure voltages.? There is not much to go wrong and the UP circuits and the?DWN?circuits?are virtually identical, and operate essentially the same, and the components are easily indentified so comparative measurements can be made.

Hope this helps and you find the problem.

Regards,
Norm?W4QN?
