This is only partially true. Some alloys of stainless are very
definitely magnetic. YMMV

Also, make sure you check the worm screw with the magnet as there are
some
Chinese made clamps with low grade stainless with mild steel worm
screws.
Buy USA manufactured if possible.

If you suspect you have both stainless and non-stainless hose clamps,
you can use a magnet to tell the difference. Good quality stainless is
non-magnetic. Change any that fail the test.
