[TowerTalk] KLM antennas

He is just calling them buttons.....they really are the end caps for the
tubes that make up the trap capacitors.
My KT34X-A was bought new in 82' and came with the white caps.
Many years later I heard that the white caps were prone to degrade from UV
and from birds pecking away at them.
So....in 96' I didn't have anything to do so I ordered the new end caps and
removed one element at a time and replaced the caps with the green ones that
KLM supplied.
The white ones were partially open at the top, were brittle and probably had
been bad for several years.....but as you know....it never rains in
California....yeah right!
Now, it is laying in disgrace in my second garage.....sniff...

Green and white buttons?  I had quite a few of the early KLM antennas.  
Even had one stolen off the freight doc while I was in paying the bill, 
but  I don't remember any buttons.
