That is the way the plate works, hooks over the cross bars, torques against
the uprights. Works fine, I have had three LM-470's using Ham M or Prop
Pitch motors and never a problem. The weight of the mast holds it secure.

Does anyone know how the rotator plate for an LM470D stays fastened to the
top
section of the crank-up tower?
Mine doesn't have any means of fastening, but it force fits into the tower
and
would probably stay there if the rotator, mast, and thrust bearing were in
place.
Is there a better way or what?
