Hi Tony --
Along this same line, check my website to see how 
I'm running a similar 80 meter antenna.  It's at:

There's absolutely no reason it should work as well 
as it does since it defys several of the rules of 
physics but I'm not going to tell it that since it 
continues to work SUPER for me.
This weekend on Sweepstakes, I got numerous 
unsolicited comments on how loud I was.  I could 
only laugh to myself..... but it's easy to build and 
works "like a bomb!"
