Hi Mike,
A year ago I purchased the 9ft model, but have yet to actually install it. However, my friend who originally had it, did not use lag bolts to mount it. He used through bolts with locking nuts on the interior side. He drilled straight through the 2X8 rafter supports that you install to strengthen the roof section. This will strengthen the tower considerably at minimal cost. Is your wind loading within parameters? Be careful you don't get too much antenna up there (unless you also plan on guying it). Also, I would add a couple of reinforcing sections of 2X6 or 2X8 as the case may be for your rafter spacing.

I have a single story ranch house. The antenna I want to put on it is a HyGain EXP 14 and possibly, a modest 6 meter beam. Does anyone have experience with this tower and do you all have any pointers for me about installing it. 73, Mike WB0SND> _______________________________________________> > > > _______________________________________________> TowerTalk mailing list> TowerTalk at contesting.com> http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/towertalk
