Agreed about the minimal loss, but there still is an issue of the mismatch  
coupled with a nominal SWR of maybe 1.2 or 1.3 that might appear even  with 
using 50 ohm cable.  This, coupled with the mismatch of the 75 ohm  cable, 
also coupled with excursions up and down near the band edges could be a  
problem for solid state xcvrs and solid state amps.  Many get cranky when  
looking at SWRs of 1.5 or higher.  
 
However, as you pointed out, loss due to mismatch is not a big  factor.
