[TowerTalk] another 160/80m rx loop question

A simple loop antenna has a deep null broadside to the loop for vertically polarized signals only. Its great for nulling local noise sources but completely ineffective for skywave propagated noise on 160 and 80 meters.

A pennant or K9AY loop is a great solution, but a simple loop is not.

My problem is rx.I work what I hear but I would like to hear better. I plan to put it on a 5-6' tower & rotate it. I'd use a pre-amp. This will go to my K3.

>What I'm asking is anyone using a rx diamond [pvc with coax inside & a matching network]? What do you use as a pre -amp? Anyone rotating theirs? A pennant or large wire loop is impractical in my case. 8 towers,guys,2 mono verticals and shrubbery is enough to mow around. I want as simple as possible rx loop.
