I hate to rain on your parade, but there are three issues you need to think about: the first two are the BUILDING CODE and ZONING CODEs. You can't put such a structure just anywhere these days, and you will have to have acceptable zoning and meet the building code and you probably have no idea how difficult that will be with a nonstandard structure. Think general zoning, height restrictions, setback requirements, architects, engineers, soil engineers (for the foundation that will be required). Then, have you checked out the cost of lumber? Probably cheaper to buy a real tower. Finally, it won't be cheap to build such a structure -- again, probably cheaper to build a tower.
Check out AN Wireless and the step bolt option (for tower climbing).
