Yes, there is....Polyrod. It is extruded fiberglass rod used by broadcast
stations and power companies. It is much stiffer than Philly and is not
coated. The price is around 1/3 to 1/2 that of euqivalent Philly. Drawback
: it must be ordered in large quantities, and you must wear gloves since it
is uncoated.
