The January 2010 QST reports in Silent Keys that Antenna and trap designer
Chester Buchanan, W3DZZ passed away.

W3DZZ was an early designer of the tri-band beam
that sold in the mid to late 1950's. Chester designed the traps used to
electrically separate 10 amd 15. The entire trap was then used to lengthen
the element for 20. He also designed several trap dipoles and the beam and
traps were sold by the Fredrick Tool & Engineering Corporation. One
prominent reseller was Harvey Radio in New York.

The original QST article on his trap design appeared in the March 1955
issue.

According to QRZ.com Chester was born in 1915 and was 94 years old,

RIP W3DZZ.
