Steve I think your response was pretty heartless.  If you were in that hospital bed and had been near
death a couple of times I'm sure you'd appreciate receiving good wishes from the ham community.
I know that I would.

So what if the message took up 3 lines of text on the reflector - what's the big deal.  I think the posting
of that message was a good "exception" to the rules.
