Now I need to go look at my TH5. I think they use the same arrangement.  
If it's not a joint, I'd take the pin out and rotate the boom depending 
on how tight the clamp holds.
I know right where the manual is located...Some where out in my shop<sigh>
I'll try to find a bit more detail.
