[TowerTalk] Tuning Antennas with the MFJ-259

If you are talking about HF yagi's, I have had good results by laying the
antenna's reflector on the ground and pointing it straight up. Find the
resonance and adjust as needed. Then stick it up on the tower. I have done
this on a number of trapped and non trapped yagis: two CL-33's, a TH3 MK
III, a TH6DXX, a homebrew 4 element 15 M yagi and a A3WS 12/17 M yagi and
all never needed any retuning of the element lengths to change the resonance
point. They were all extremely close to the on ground measurements.  The
antennas all ended up from 50 to 55 ft. high on guyed or non-guyed towers
with coax lengths from 100 to 150 feet.
